Our Standards
At Bissett, we understand the importance of quality. We believe in sourcing products that are produced in an ethical and environmentally sound manner. That means enforcing strict quality control procedures that ensure product specifications are within acceptable tolerances. We are committed to maintaining these standards by performing annual site visits (COVID permitting) to all major/environmentally sensitive manufacturing partners of Bissett products to ensure compliance.
Our partnership criteria require our manufacturing partners to adhere to strict product specifications, comply with government safety and environmental regulations, fair treatment of employees (no child and forced labour), and safe workplace conditions. We will never produce environmentally sensitive items without verifying that compliance is met. Bissett has zero-tolerance for corrupt activities of any kind. Bribes or other improper or unauthorized payments, or acts that create the appearance of promising, offering, giving or authorizing such payments, are prohibited. Bissett abides by all imposed Canadian government sanctions.
At Bissett, we are never too busy to work safely. Our safety slogan reflects our drive to ensure that all of our staff do their job safely. We have safety goals for our branches and departments, and they are reviewed monthly by the Bissett safety and leadership team. We actively discuss incidents (and near misses) and make changes to our standard operating procedures to ensure that they do not happen again.
