090 Builders Group is a Canadian construction group specializing in framing projects from coast to coast. Their team is highly skilled, organized, and is fully equipped to go anywhere for a project. The group focuses on wood-frame construction for multi-family developments and pride themselves on both their quality and timely production. 090’s primary objective is to maintain and grow their reputation for top quality and timely production. With the goals of speed and safety in mind, 090 reached out to Bissett for assistance in finding a solution to the significant safety issues and production delays they had been experiencing as a result of the main fastener they were using.
For over 20 years, 090 had been using 28 degree wire weld nails. Their workers experienced significant safety issues as a result of the wire fragments from the fasteners ejecting at high speed into their eyes and skin. Not only was this causing injuries, it was also prohibiting the workers from doing their jobs. Injured workers would be unable to work, and the fasteners would often jam up the nail guns which would then need to either be repaired or replaced – creating higher costs and longer downtime for the group. Ultimately, the use of wire weld nails was causing 090 to have higher costs, created many workplace injuries and safety issue, and drastically affected their production times. Using wire weld nails can result in wire fragments being ejected from the nail gun at an extremely high speed, creating a high risk for potential injuries. Switching from wire weld nails to Bissett’s papertape nails removed the risk of wire fragment injuries, therefore making the workplace safer for 090.

In addition, our papertape nails were tested and shown to withstand various climates across Canada – holding up in even the wettest and coldest of weather.
