Driven By Professionals: An Interview with Brittany Farrow (aka. @Girls_Can_Frame)

As part of a new initiative, we wanted to highlight some professionals in our industry who are doing some pretty incredible things. Each month we will be featuring individuals in our industry to learn a little bit more about them and the type of work they specialize in.
This week we chatted with Brittany Farrow, the woman behind the @girls_can_frame Instagram and TikTok. This 22 year old has rapidly grown her business and her social media following since she started working in the industry. With over 83k followers on TikTok, Brittany uses her platform to highlight her growing business and empower other women in the industry. In this interview Brittany talks to us about how she got into the trades and the rewards of working in construction.
Here is our interview with Brittany:
1. Who are you?
My name is Brittany Farrow! I’m a 22 year old framer. I own and run my own crew in Ontario, Canada.
2. What’s your specialty?
I am a residential house framer for new builds.
3. How did you get into the trade?
I started in a high school coop for construction and they thought I’d be a good fit for framing which they were right.
4. What’s your favourite part about work?
My favourite part of framing is building walls. But the best part of being a framer is knowing you’re building something that’s going to be standing for years to come.

5. What is one of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in the workplace?
The biggest challenge is proving your abilities.
6. What project/job(s) are you the most proud of?
My favourite projects are custom builds because they are more challenging and interesting to see how they come together

7. What advice would you give to someone getting into the trade?
It is a lot of work being in construction but I find seeing the houses and what you’ve accomplished is rewarding and you get to work with your hands instead of sitting at a desk.
8. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I don’t have much spare time because I’m working towards my goals for my future.
